A Buyer is needed for a Swiss-American pharmaceutical and medical device company specializing in eye care products in the Irvine, CA area. This role combines strategic supply chain planning, tactical purchasing, and production scheduling responsibilities, with a key emphasis on sourcing electronic components through distributors and brokers to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing support.

responsibilities:
- Analyze, develop, and implement long-term supply chain strategies and network designs.
- Address capacity constraints and production location decisions to align with business goals.
- Support execution of new programs, product launches, promotional events, and supply chain redesigns.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales and operations planning (S&OP).
- Perform a variety of purchasing tasks, including sourcing routine, non-discretionary materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and files.
- Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules.
- Coordinate with materials management to ensure material flow aligns with production needs.
- Advise management on work progress, material availability, and production risks.
- Electronics experience - refers to experience working with distributors, brokers finding alternate components.
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
