A Quality Inspector is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Houston, TX area. This job will be responsible for ensuring the structural and electrical integrity of metal enclosures by conducting detailed inspections, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and building codes, and promoting a culture of quality and safety.

responsibilities:
Structural Inspection:
- Inspect metal enclosures to ensure they comply with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and building codes (UBC, IBC, ASCE, etc.).
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure structural integrity and alignment with design.
- Assess the quality of metal fabrication and welding processes.
- Perform welding inspections in accordance with AWS standards.
- Inspect the installation of electrical equipment to ensure it aligns with manufacturer recommendations.
- Verify that electrical systems are integrated according to design drawings and manufacturer specifications.
- Act proactively to prevent the recurrence of issues based on past lessons.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improving product design or project execution to the engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the quality team.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and project management.
- Promote and ensure strong HSE practices are followed at the manufacturing site.
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Proven experience in structural and electrical inspection, preferably in the manufacturing of metal buildings or enclosures.
- In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
- Familiarity with building codes such as UBC, IBC, ASCE, and NEC.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
