An Automation Engineer is needed for a Swiss multinational manufacturing company for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition sectors, in the Walkersville, MD area. The Automation Engineer designs, implements, and provides hands-on technical support for automated equipment and a wide range of operational technology systems, ensuring their integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

responsibilities:
- Designs and implements automated equipment and tests to improve production efficiency.
- Provides hands-on technical support for a range of site-based automation and Operational Technology (OT) systems.
- Ensures the integrity, reliability, security, and compliance of OT infrastructure and industrial automation platforms.
- Supports the full system lifecycle, from design to validation.
- Contributes to CAPEX/OPEX projects and supports the introduction of new automation technologies.
- Writes and maintains documentation manuals for automated processes and equipment changes.
- Ensures data integrity, cybersecurity, and regulatory readiness in accordance with GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11.
