Process Mechanical Engineer, ideally with pulp & paper or similar experience, to join a leading engineering consulting firm to help execute capital projects. You will be responsible to execute process designs in the form of engineering calculations documented on PFD's, P&ID's, general arrangement drawings, specifications/datasheets, design basis, and associated lists. The position can be based in any of the following locations and is a hybrid role - Cincinnati, Raleigh, Greenville, Savannah, Kansas City, Birmingham, Mobile, Salt Lake City, or Appleton, WI.

responsibilities:
- Lead and execute comprehensive process designs, including the creation of PFDs, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and engineering calculations.
- Select and integrate mechanical/process equipment such as turbines, boilers, HRSGs, pumps, heat exchangers, and material handling systems.
- Generate plant heat/material balances, develop piping systems and isometric drawings, and support control system logic design.
- Support proposal development, actively participate in quality assurance reviews, and help grow key client relationships.

- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of pulp & paper or similar industry experience
- Demonstrated proficiency across all project phases, from conceptual design and equipment selection through to commissioning.
- Technical skills including P&ID development, hydraulic calculations (AFT or equivalent), mass/energy balances (Thermoflex), and proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience interfacing directly with clients and familiarity with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes.
