A Machinist is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Medley, FL area. This job requires a skilled individual to perform a range of machining operations, from setting up and operating machinery to using precision measuring tools, while also interpreting blueprints and applying basic CAD/CAM knowledge.

responsibilities:
Machining Operations:
- Perform fundamental machining operations, including drilling, milling, turning, and grinding.
- Set up machines and follow safety protocols.
- Position and secure materials using various methods (e.g., vices, chucks, hoists).
- Select and install cutting tools and holding devices.
- Set feed rates, cutting speeds, depths, and angles on machines.
- Operate precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Accurately measure tolerances and inspect parts.
- Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths.
- Perform basic calculations, such as for gear dimensions or machine settings.
- Interpret blueprints, including symbols, abbreviations, and tolerancing standards.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to analyze shop prints.
- Navigate and use CAD software for basic design and drafting.
- Understand the fundamentals of CAM, including toolpath creation and simulation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
