An Automation Engineer is needed for a Swiss multinational manufacturing company for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition sectors, in the Portsmouth, NH area. This role focuses on providing technical support for manufacturing and process automation systems, specifically the DeltaV plant-wide control system, to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

responsibilities:
- Offer technical assistance and troubleshooting for manufacturing and process automation systems to ensure they meet production needs.
- Design, implement, and test automation changes in the DeltaV control system for process improvements and technology transfers.
- Write detailed documentation, such as functional designs and configuration specifications, for automated processes and any equipment changes.
- Resolve equipment breakdowns and quality issues by conducting technical analyses, including reviewing code and analyzing PI data.
- Assist with technology transfer, new projects, and process improvements as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in adherence to cGMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other documentation, and stay current on all required training.
- Deep knowledge of process control systems, specifically DeltaV.
- The ability to analyze data from systems like PI to troubleshoot issues.
- Proficiency in reviewing and troubleshooting automation code.
- The ability to think logically and analytically to solve complex problems.
- The skill to write detailed technical documentation.
- Understanding and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices is essential for this role in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
