A Geotechnical Field Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Winnemucca, NV area. This role is for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to provide field oversight for earthwork activities on the 6-month Thacker Pass Project in Winnemucca, Nevada, ensuring all work meets technical specifications.

responsibilities:
- Provide field oversight for earthwork activities, including reviewing specifications and witnessing field tests.
- Ensure that all work meets technical requirements and project specifications.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors performing earthwork.
- Communicate regularly with field representatives from contractor and construction teams.
- Maintain open communication with the Geotechnical Engineering Lead.
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- With a Master's degree: At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- With a Bachelor's degree: A minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Must have hands-on experience in earthwork execution and prior experience on a large construction site.
Skills: Must be computer literate and proficient with office and geotechnical software.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Geotechnical Expertise:
- Broad knowledge of geotechnical engineering and rock mechanics.
- Familiarity with earthwork construction, subsurface investigation, and field/laboratory testing methods.
- Understanding of field engineering processes for large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations on large construction sites.
