responsibilities:
Leadership and Operations
- Oversee daily fabrication shop activities, including welding, cutting, forming, and assembly
- Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion within specifications
- Drive productivity, enforce safety, quality, and cleanliness standards
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Conduct quality inspections during and after production
- Train and mentor employees on fabrication processes, equipment, and safety procedures
- Manage material and supply inventory levels
- Coordinate workflow with engineering, purchasing, and project management teams
- Maintain production records, timesheets, and incident reports
- Troubleshoot equipment, material, and production issues
- Ensure preventive maintenance on shop equipment
- Participate in initiatives to improve processes and operations
