An EHS Specialist is needed for an an American Fortune 500 company and global supplier of paints, coatings, and specialty materials in the Burbank, CA area. This role focuses on ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by conducting training, managing safety programs, performing audits, and maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.

responsibilities:
- Conduct new hire and EHS training.
- Organize and run safety committee meetings.
- Support the approval of work permits for employees and contractors.
- Manage the maintenance of emergency and fire protection equipment.
- Administer programs to help the site exceed safety goals, near misses, and safety observation reports.
- Assist with 6S documentation and audits.
- Conduct emergency drills.
- Update site communication boards daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Perform industrial hygiene sampling.
- Maintain the chemical inventory system (HMM).
- Support PSSRs and MOCs.
- Report incidents, enter data into the safety management system, and lead investigations and root cause analysis.
- Possess knowledge of lab activities workflow.
- Have a basic knowledge of EHS MS and requirements.
- Demonstrate company values.
- Possess a strong safety mindset.
- Promote a positive work environment and safe behaviors.
- Exhibit leadership skills to drive a safety culture.
- Minimum education High School Graduate.
- Operations experience / EHS experience preferred.
