Our client, a leading manufacturer in the Houston, TX is seeking a Buyer Planner to join their Supply Chain team. As a Buyer Planner, you'll be responsible for the production planning and purchase of supplies, raw materials, and services for a high-mix, low-volume industrial manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for domestic and international purchasing of fabricated, machined, or cast metal products. You will also manage supplier performance and cost reduction projects The Buyer Planner is a key player in a small, collaborative team, responsible for managing the entire process from start to finish. This hands-on role will require you to use your problem-solving skills to resolve supply, quality, or logistical issues and drive cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management, engineering, or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience in Supply Chain experience
- Proficiency with an ERP and Excel is required.
- Ability to work on-site Monday - Thursday, with a flexible remote option on Friday.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification is a Plus

- Manage production schedules and lead times, interfacing daily with the customer service team to ensure orders meet delivery expectations
- Procure necessary materials, supplies, and equipment while preparing RFQs and obtaining competitive bids to ensure the best total cost.
- Resolve supplier problems associated with over shipments, shortages, invoice issues, and rework or scrap.
