A Cost Management Lead is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering. Remote work. This job is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of a project, from initial cost estimation and budgeting to monitoring and reporting, to ensure projects are completed within their financial targets.

responsibilities:
- Cost Database Management: Collect and analyze cost proposals from vendors, contractors, and suppliers to build and maintain a reliable cost database.
- Cost Estimation: Develop and produce various classes of cost estimates to support business cases, financial investment decisions, change order evaluation, scenario analysis, and project planning.
- Collaboration: Work with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure cost accuracy and transparency across all project phases.
- Financial Monitoring: Monitor actual project costs versus budget, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Change Order Support: Support the review and validation of change orders, including independent cost assessments and justifications.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic cost reports and present financial insights to leadership and project teams.
- Value Engineering: Lead and participate in value engineering exercises to ensure project scope aligns with budget targets and to maximize value for stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve estimating tools, methods, and processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cost estimation, cost engineering, or project controls within the construction or engineering industries.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency with cost estimating software (e.g., CostX, RSMeans, Sage Estimating).
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- strong command of Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP): AACE International
- Project Management Professional (PMP): PMI
- Other relevant certifications in project controls or cost engineering.
