A Quality Engineer is needed for a biomedical/biotechnology engineering firm and multinational manufacturer of medical devices in the Valencia, CA area. This role involves investigating product complaints, analyzing performance data, and presenting insights to management while leading quality improvement initiatives and mentoring junior team members.

responsibilities:
Quality Engineering Support:
- Collect, analyze, and trend complaint data for various groups, including upper management.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of escalated monthly trends.
- Present data in meetings with upper management.
- Create dashboard views in tools like PowerBI for analyzing and monitoring complaint trends.
- Plan and execute validation of analysis reports and dashboards.
- Create, revise, and approve departmental procedures using an electronic document control system (e.g., Windchill).
- Initiate, own, and complete NCEPs/CAPAs in an electronic system (e.g., eCAPA).
- Work with members from operations, manufacturing, R&D, risk management, and design assurance to resolve quality issues in the field.
- Collaborate with R&D to understand new failure modes of returned products.
- Maintain test equipment in the Complaint Investigation Site's lab.
- Train technicians and junior engineers on troubleshooting field return samples and other lab processes.
- Proactively investigate, identify, and implement improvements to the Quality System.
- Provide a leadership role in championing departmental or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to the technical team.
Experience: 2-4 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree (BS) or 1-2 years with a Master's degree (MS) in a technical field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in data analysis and dashboard creation using tools like PowerBI and Excel.
- Ability to process, manipulate, and analyze failure/complaint data to find patterns and create reports.
- Advanced user of MS Excel and PowerBI.
- Highly preferred: Working knowledge of SAS, Oracle, and other database structures and programming languages (intermediate user).
- Technical ability to investigate medical device field failure returns.
