Immediate need for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for a long term contract role in the Guildford, CT area! The right engineer will be well versed in quality management concepts and have an excellent eye for details within a busy manufacturing packaging environment. You will be working with a well cultured team performing machine validation/qualification focusing on corrective action and continuous improvement efforts.
This person will support quality initiatives working with proper documentation, addressing customer issues, and monitoring daily process improving the organization's quality management system.
Must be a degreed engineer, a team player with exceptional communication skills, highly detailed and bring a minimum of 4 years related manufacturing / quality experience with the drive to succeed. Always potential for direct hire conversion down the road. Printing machinery knowledge a plus!

responsibilities:
- Daily auditing of departmental processes and paperwork according to QA procedures.
- Supplier Management Activities (including rejections, SCAR's and onsite audits as necessary)
- Machine Validation/Qualification activities
- Create and/or improve process documentation to support quality initiatives
- Customer complaint investigations / implementation of corrective actions
- Real-time inspection of products, processes and systems / Assist with daily quality inspections
- Create written reports or analysis as necessary
- Initiate/participate in facility/corporate continuous improvement efforts
- BS/BA in engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Computer literate (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.); experience with SPC tools/software helpful
- Familiarity with quality management concepts (ASQC certification attained or willingness to pursue)
- Familiarity with printing processes (ideal, but not required)
- Ability to interpret and implement customer specifications/requirements
- Excellent visual acuity
- Good interpersonal skills and analytical problem solving abilities (root cause determination)
