We're looking for a Construction Manager to take charge of and oversee construction projects, ranging from half a million to nearly half a billion dollars. This role requires someone who is not afraid to speak up, take responsibility, and be the on-site supervisor for contractors. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of industrial construction, particularly in mechanical, civil, and structural aspects. You'll spend about 85% of your time in the field, working alongside contractors to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Management to complete outage planning and coordinate with operating entities and contractors
- Act as the on-site supervisor, watching contractors to ensure their work aligns with construction drawings and specifications
- Monitor manpower and the physical progress of construction
- Prepare and maintain regular construction logs and reports
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in coordinating and managing complex construction projects in an industrial setting (10yrs+ preferred)
- Experience managing construction of industrial facilities (heavy industrial or heavy manufacturing)
- Ability to read and evaluate schedules, estimates, drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge strengths in the areas of civil engineering, structural, mechanical, or welding (the more the better)
- Knowledge of how to safely lift heavy equipment
- Ability to multitask and handle diverse responsibilities in a multi-faceted work environment
- The ability to work long hours and weekends when needed
- Must be able to speak up and take responsibility for project outcomes - strong communication skills critical
- BS Engineering preferred
