Assistant Designer needed for a leading Engineering firm in Kansas City MO. Distribution Designer creates designs and plans for electric utility distribution systems, preparing construction drawings, work orders, and material lists while collaborating with engineers. Responsibilities include performing load and voltage drop calculations, coordinating projects with clients and internal team members, and using CAD/GIS software to manage project progress. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to develop reliable and efficient power distribution designs. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of relevant experience.

responsibilities:
- System Design: Design and develop electrical distribution systems for overhead electric distribution projects.
- Project Documentation: Prepare construction plans, work orders, and material lists for projects.
- Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, customers, and other departments to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Utilize Computer-Aided Drafting and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software for design and data management.
- Compliance: Create designs that adhere to necessary codes, standards, and regulations.
- Customer Interaction: Act as a point of contact for customers to determine requirements, discuss facility layouts, and provide support.
