Mechanical Process Engineer opportunity located in the Kansas city, MO area. This position will be involved with the engineering, design and execution of client projects in the process plant design and construction industry. Working with internal and external clients, you will be expected to lead or execute the full life cycle of mechanical process designs in the specification and sizing of pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and other process equipment. Relocation assistance will be considered for well qualified candidates.

responsibilities:
- Specification and sizing of pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, piping and other process equipment.
- Create engineering calculations documented on PFD's, P&ID's, general arrangement drawings, specifications
- Apply commercially available technology for process execution, identifying potential malfunctions and incorporating appropriate remediations.
- Determine feasibility of design, identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations, and apply commercially available technology for process execution
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (will consider B.S. in Chemical Engineering with applicable experience)
- Demonstrated experience in selecting appropriate mechanical equipment for chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, or similar industrial plants
- Knowledge of fluids/chemicals used in consumer products, materials of construction, fluid control valves, and instrumentation.
- Fluency with AutoCAD
- On-site, in-plant, and startup experience is a plus
