A Technical Writer for a medical devices and equipment manufacturing company is needed in the Portage, MI area. This Technical Writer role is focused on developing, standardizing, and maintaining controlled documentation (Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms) in a regulated environment (QMS/ISO/FDA).

responsibilities:
- Ensure documentation complies with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices (clarity, consistency, usability).
- Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), process owners, and cross-functional teams.
- Develop, write, edit, and maintain documentation aligned with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with SMEs and process owners to gather information and ensure technical content accuracy.
- Standardize documentation format and ensure consistency across departments.
- Review, update, and manage document revisions to reflect process improvements or regulatory changes.
- Ensure documentation complies with applicable Quality Management System (QMS) requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA).
- Create documentation that is clear, concise, and easily understood by both technical and non-technical users.
- Support audits and inspections by providing controlled, accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with training teams to align documentation with employee training and onboarding.
- strong knowledge of operating procedures/work instructions/forms.
- Excellent written/verbal communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to translate complex concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems (SharePoint, MasterControl, or similar),
- strong organizational and project management skills.
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Technical Communication, English, Life Sciences, or related) or equivalent experience,
- Plus 3+ years in technical writing, preferably in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharma).
