This is an urgent call for an experienced Civil Estimator. We have a client in Fayetteville, Arkansas, seeking a professional to prepare commercial and industrial estimates. We're looking for someone with 3 years of experience who is ready to attend pre-bid meetings, review all project documentation, and develop comprehensive bid proposals that include cost breakdowns, scope, and necessary clarifications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in on-screen take-offs, understand the means and methods of Civil Construction, and be adept at effective negotiation. responsibilities:
- Prepare commercial and industrial estimates per bid request, including quantity take-offs for both self-performed and subcontracted work.
- Attend all required pre-bid and jobsite meetings.
- Thoroughly review all plans, specifications, and owner requirements.
- Develop and submit complete bid proposals, detailing cost breakdowns, scope, clarifications, and exclusions.
- Possess a technical understanding of project plans and specifications.
- Proficiently perform on-screen quantity take-offs.
- Provide valuable engineering suggestions, pricing, and necessary documentation.
- Understand the means and methods used in all Civil Construction.
- Prepare the Owner/Project Manager bid manual as required.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- A bachelor's degree or advanced education in a construction-related field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the construction industry, with duties matching those listed previously.
- Solid working knowledge and understanding of construction drawings, project documents, specifications, and overall construction management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct effective negotiations.
