Instrumentation and Controls Engineer opportunity with a systems integration company located in the Madison, WI area. Our client is looking for someone to help with the instrumentation and controls responsibilities for a variety of process and industrial projects. This role works with multidisciplinary teams to provide excellent client service from design concept through commissioning and job closeout. responsibilities:
- Develop and review control system architecture, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control sequences, and design specifications
- Develop and/or review wiring schematics and control panel layout drawings
- Develop wire pull schedules and scope of work documents for contractors to use in bidding and construction.
- Program and integrate HMIs and PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, etc.).
- Perform onsite startup, I/O checkout, troubleshooting, calibration, and validation of equipment.
- Create project documentation, including bills of material (BOMs), instrument indexes, and scopes of work.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 or more years experience in PLC system design, programming, and field commissioning (design to start-up).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD electrical and the ability to interpret and create process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs.)
- Ability to travel to customer facilities with several overnight stays (25-40%), nationally for design meetings, equipment installation supervision and commissioning.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills combined with the ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups.
