A growing manufacturer in Springfield, VA is seeking a dedicated Engineering Technician to join their technical team. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills directly on the production floor, working closely with engineering and supervision to ensure optimal process performance. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience and an engineering, continuous improvement mindset. Previous manufacturing experience required, chemical environment preferred.

responsibilities:
- Act as the first line of defense for production, effectively troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues on manufacturing equipment.
- Assist technical and production supervisors as needed, occasionally serving as backup to maintain workflow continuity.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting and improving process workflows and equipment functionality.
- Lead and support improvement projects across manufacturing areas, applying technical expertise to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Perform structured process data reviews
- Support the creation and maintenance of standardized workflows, documentation, and training to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Technical Background: An educational background in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- Proven Troubleshooting Skills: Required hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities in a manufacturing environment.
- Process Expertise: Experience with process control and batch manufacturing, with a chemical background preferred.
- Analytical Mindset: strong analytical mindset and proficiency with data tools, including Excel
- Lean, continuous improvement experience
- Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable wearing required PPE and working around chemicals, as well as the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
