A Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. The role involves using advanced CADD/modeling tools (e.g., MicroStation, CivilStorm, Smart3D), managing deliverables, and providing technical guidance to junior staff.

responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of civil engineering work.
- Perform problem analysis and original design.
- Prepare work specifications, technical bid evaluations, and award recommendations for subcontracts/requisitions.
- Coordinate engineering efforts between Civil Engineering, other disciplines, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Prepare or assist in preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.
- Review and check deliverables from subordinate engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- When delegated, assume a lead technical role over engineers or project subgroups.
- Assist in on-the-job training and provide input for performance evaluations.
- Prepare letters to vendors and clients.
- Company Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) tools.
- Specific applications: Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, CivilStorm, or equivalent.
- Intergraph Smart3D or equivalent; knowledge of Smartplant 3D is a plus.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 6+ years of project experience.
