Substation Electrical Engineer is needed for a major EPC firm in Houston, TX. Designs, analyzes, and coordinates the Protection and Control (P&C) systems for high-voltage substations. Responsibilities include developing critical electrical documentation (schematics, diagrams), performing specialized calculations (grounding, lightning, sizing), and collaborating across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated, code-compliant substation designs.

responsibilities:
- Design & Documentation: Develop and modify comprehensive electrical drawings (one-lines, schematics, panel arrangements) for new/modified substations.
- Engineering Analysis: Execute critical electrical calculations, including DC battery/AC load sizing, voltage drop, lightning protection, and grounding analysis.
- Specifications & Coordination: Create technical specifications for major substation equipment and collaborate with SCADA, P&C, Civil, and Structural engineering teams.
- Project Support: Provide technical solutions, assist with client/manufacturer reviews, and ensure accurate as-built documentation.
- Technical Foundation: Possess knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, microprocessor-based protection schemes, and substation physical design (clearances, ground grid, bus design).
