A Engineering Technologist is needed for a world class utility company in the Fort Wayne, IN area. This job manages the entire lifecycle of smart equipment, from initial DACR planning and scheme development to day-to-day enablement and root cause investigation, while utilizing technical proficiency and basic business awareness to coordinate solutions.

Technical Proficiency
- Possesses technical to entry-level knowledge acquired from a Bachelor's Degree in an ABET accredited engineering technology program.
- Performs special technical functions with proper guidance and gains familiarity with standards, codes, and regulations.
- Gains familiarity with pertinent equipment, materials, systems, and business processes.
- Assists higher-level employees in handling well-defined portions of routine problems.
- Follows policies, practices, standards, and rules of the company and external regulations.
- Performs ongoing activities in accordance with established procedures with direction from higher-level employees.
- Performs work activities as assigned and coached by higher-level employees.
- Demonstrates ability to work with others in both supplying information and seeking assistance.
- Maintains required records and prepares special reports for tests, performance, and projects.
- Plans work in accordance with company standard planning practices.
- Prioritizes routine work to meet company demands.
- Assists with providing input to annual budget, capital forecasts, five-year plan, and improvement requisitions.
- Participates in planning meetings covering scheduling, operations, and maintenance of equipment.
- Assists in the preparation of basic cost estimates using established guidelines.

- Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering technology in a program accredited by ABET (preferred degree).
- Engineering degrees will also be considered.
- Acceptable alternatives include a non-ABET Bachelor's in engineering technology plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license.
- Another alternative is a non-ABET Bachelor's in engineering technology plus a Master's or PhD in engineering technology from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
