A leader in specialty sensor designs is currently searching for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. This is a direct hire position located in Wallingford CT.
The ideal candidate will have 6 years of manufacturing engineering experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the production floor by taking products from final design to manufacturability. This includes working on bills of material, workplace instructions, training operators, and supporting day-to-day engineering questions on products. Additional responsibilities include continuous improvement projects, productivity enhancements, and exploring automation and new tooling. The manufacturing engineer will not typically interact with customers regarding specifications but will be involved in root cause analysis for product returns in coordination with the quality department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing or process engineering
- Fast learning and self motivated
- An innovative, creative approach to problem solving
- Effective at written and verbal communication

responsibilities:
- Lead new product introduction by translating drawings, tooling, and manufacturing methods into production ready processes
- Lead and pilot prototype builds and validate manufacturing methods
- Identify and apply continuous improvements to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and/or cost effectiveness through knowledge of fabrication processes, automation, new tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design
- Participate in on-the-floor problem solving and troubleshooting of new or existing product and manufacturing equipment
- Design visual aids and write internal drawings and work instructions for sensor component assembly and testing using specific customer specifications, policies, and guidelines
- Installation and integration of new manufacturing equipment
- Design and develop fixtures to improve production efficiency
- Provide expertise and personnel training on sensor assembly and testing
- Manage time effectively and independently between multiple projects simultaneously
