responsibilities:
- Prepare precise, detailed estimates for all project components (materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors).
- Review and interpret all project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Solicit and carefully evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to confirm project needs and limitations.
- Identify and address potential cost risks, and analyze the financial impact of design changes on the budget.
- Develop and maintain databases containing current and historical project cost data.
- Assist in preparing and presenting comprehensive bid proposals; provide management with financial reports and estimate updates.
- Perform detailed material quantity take-offs and measurements.
- Stay current with the latest construction trends, materials, pricing, and industry regulations.
- Minimum of 5+ years in commercial and industrial construction estimating.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred (e.g., in Construction Management or Civil Engineering).
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, along with ProCore and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- An understanding of general construction methods, materials, processes, building codes, and safety/environmental regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively independently and within a team structure
