Site Safety and Health Officer contract opportunity with an energy savings construction client located at the VA facilities in the San Francisco, CA area. This position will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for supporting a long term project and overseeing all relevant onsite construction safety supervision activities.

responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log
- Work with the Contractor and Subcontractor Health and Safety persons, supervisors, and management to ensure that any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts are corrected immediately
- Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports
- Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and sub-contractors
- Maintain the safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution
- Inform the Project Manager and Construction Manager of any identified hazardous conditions or unsafe acts
- Other duties as typical and assigned
- Approximately 3 or more years of relevant construction safety supervision experience
- 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety class completion
- Successful completion of the 40 Hour Construction Safety Hazard Awareness Training Course for Contractors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Proficient computer skills including basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
