Leading EPC firm is looking in Wallingford, CT to add an Environmental Monitoring Technician to a growing team. This role will oversee vegetation management activities and ensure project sites remain in full alignment with environmental regulations. In this role, you will serve as the eyes and ears on the ground, bridging the gap between environmental permits and field execution. Largely field based role ising GIS with office days sprinkled in as needed. Will need own reliable transportation.

responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing site inspections and spot checks of vegetation management activities to ensure strict adherence to environmental permits, erosion and sedimentation Best Management Practices (BMPs), and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize GIS and mapping tools to reflag sensitive areas-including wetlands, cultural resource sites, and Threatened & Endangered species habitats-while coordinating with resource-specific monitors to protect site integrity.
- Serve as the primary field liaison by communicating compliance expectations to contractors, participating in weekly project status calls, and collaborating with utility arborists and oversight staff to ensure project alignment.
- Execute comprehensive documentation of field results through daily reporting and photography, while maintaining an active "punch-list" to track and resolve open environmental compliance items.
- Conducting pre-clearing walk-throughs and delivering specialized Threatened & Endangered species training to contractors and field personnel prior to the commencement of work.
