A Quality Inspector is needed for a multinational power management company in the Grand Rapids, MI area. This is a Quality Inspector role focused on receiving and final inspections within a regulated manufacturing environment and will use manual precision tools, interpret GD&T blueprints, and complete AS9102 First Article Inspections to ensure all products and certifications meet strict aerospace or industrial standards.

responsibilities:
- Performs receiving and final inspections using manual layout tools, calipers, micrometers, and gages.
- Evaluates product compliance through advanced blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Prepares and completes First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
- Validates material and certification paperwork against technical blueprint specifications.
- Conducts assembly floor layer process audits and 5S audits to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Utilizes Windows-based software including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word for technical documentation.
- Supports high-volume month-end shipment deadlines to meet customer demands.
- Ensures adherence to AS9100 quality management systems and Repair Station Certificate guidelines.
- Documented experience evaluating product compliance through a thorough understanding of industry specifications, blueprint reading and GD&T within the last 5 years.
- Documented experience with evaluating and certifying AS9102 First Article Inspections.
- Documented experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an Accredited Institution.
- Must have minimum two (2) years' experience working in a manufacturing environment within the last 5 years.
- Must have minimum three (3) years' experience in a quality department within the last 5 years.
