We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Architect to lead the design and execution of impactful projects across varying scales and complexities. In this role, you will independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of architectural principles while maintaining a high level of precision throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for performing complex design computations, developing detailed specifications, and interpreting building codes to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements. Your technical expertise will be essential in preparing comprehensive documentation across all architectural phases-ranging from initial site and floor plans to building elevations, sections, and intricate construction details.
Collaboration and leadership are central to this position. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to manage the planning, design, and construction documentation phases, with a specific focus on the successful execution of Design-Build projects. Beyond internal coordination, you will play a pivotal role in client relations by participating in requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating. You will also lead project coordination meetings with both internal team members and external stakeholders, ensuring the seamless integration of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) designs into the overall architectural vision.
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Licensure: A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture is required, along with active AIA Registered Architect status in the state of Michigan.
Technical Proficiency: Mandatory, high-level expertise in Revit is required, spanning from conceptual design through to detailed construction documents. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Architectural Expertise: A profound understanding of all phases of document production and the critical relationship between drawings and specifications. You must demonstrate the ability to conduct sophisticated space planning, block planning, and adjacency analysis in alignment with specific building programs.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary, particularly the ability to articulate and translate abstract design concepts to diverse audiences.
