An Electrical Engineer is needed for an American life science and clinical research company in the Santa Clara, CA area. This role focuses on designing and improving electrical cabinets and control systems for bioprocessing equipment using AutoCAD, requiring a blend of schematic creation, component selection, and cross-functional collaboration.

responsibilities:
- Support the design and manufacturing of bioprocessing equipment by focusing on electrical cabinets and subsystems.
- Create and modify detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all electrical components and panels.
- Conduct electrical calculations and simulations to optimize system performance and cabinet efficiency.
- Research and select appropriate electrical components to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure seamless hardware and software integration.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and support to production during assembly and service teams during installation.
- Manage the design and improvement of cabinet layouts based on specific customer requirements and project goals.
- Participate in prototype testing, evaluation, and design reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain technical documentation including specifications, assembly drawings, and regulatory diagrams.
- Apply knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation to improve control system designs.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for electrical design.
- Understanding of electrical principles, and PLCs based control systems.
- Experience with or understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial automation is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., UL, NEC).
- Good problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
