Growing integrator in the Maumee area is seeking an Automation Design Engineer to add to their team. This role focuses on integrated system design and the ability to identify potential hazards and issues before they cause material damage; recommending systemic changes to minimize risk. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in manufacturing or electrical engineering and TUV2T certification, as well as 3-5 years of industry experience. Some travel required, about 15%. responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and compliance of systems, equipment, and processes
- Lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risks and hazards, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety protocols
- Guide the design and operation of safe, efficient systems, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company standards
- Responsible for improving safety practices and ensuring that new and existing systems are safe and effective
- Maintain records of safety assessments
- Provide training and guidance for team members on best practices
- Support incident investigations with customers to identify and determine root causes and drive corrective actions
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and editing electrical schematics and diagrams
- Possess excellent critical thinking, communication and analytical skills
- B.S. in Manufacturing, Electrical or similar engineering
- TUV2T certification
- Experience with risk assessments
- Ability to complete safety validation reports
- Must be open to about 15% travel
