A Facilities Mechanical Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Wilton, CT area. This role involves designing and managing high-complexity mechanical and process piping systems for a semiconductor facility, leading the technical scope from initial code assessment and HAZOP reviews through construction oversight.

responsibilities:
- Design and engineer complex mechanical facility systems including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, and plumbing for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Establish and develop Basis of Design (BOD), Scope of Work (SOW), and construction documents for facility infrastructure.
- Lead technical engineering tasks such as code assessments, HAZOP reviews, equipment sizing, and component specification.
- Oversee both new construction and retrofits of existing building systems, including wastewater and acid/ammonia exhaust.
- Serve as the mechanical representative to evaluate site systems, provide design options, and manage stakeholder meetings.
- Review vendor submittal packages against client requirements and provide engineering support during construction and integration.
- Gather field information and interpret design-related deliverables such as P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment plans.
- Apply expert knowledge of ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, and ASHRAE standards.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.

- Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications.
- Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university.
- At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems.
- At least 5 years of design project delivery processes experience.
- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- 5 years of experience as a facility engineer.
