Our client, a leading global metals company, is looking for a qualified Civil/Structural Design Department Lead to drive strategic project direction and establish CAD best practices from initial concept through final execution. Key qualifications include, either 5 years of engineering design and management experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 9 years of related experience with a High School Diploma/GED. This role requires expertise with industry-standard CAD tools and deep knowledge of efficient plant layout.

responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Drive the strategic direction of projects from concept to execution by establishing CAD best practices and leveraging excellent leadership and communication skills to foster a culture of efficiency.
- Team Mentorship & Technical Growth: Lead and mentor a design team while educating personnel on industry-standard CAD tools and evaluating skillsets to ensure the highest level of technical proficiency.
- Advanced Design & Layout Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of efficient plant layout to establish design objectives and technical specifications that align with complex project goals.
- Operational Project Management: Coordinate resource allocation and manage complex design projects, ensuring all deliverables are provided on time and within budget through effective cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Quality, Compliance & Education: Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and safety regulations, supported by an Associate degree in Drafting and Design (or equivalent experience) and a commitment to continuous learning.
