A Upholsterer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Medley, FL area. This is a precision-focused manufacturing role responsible for the custom fabrication, sewing, and installation of high-end leather and fabric upholstery for industrial applications, such as aircraft or automotive interiors.

responsibilities:
- Fabricate, install, and adjust custom leather or fabric covers for specialized seating and components.
- Execute high-precision sewing functions using industrial equipment, including top stitching (single and double).
- Set up and maintain industrial sewing machines by managing thread, bobbins, and needles.
- Create, interpret, and cut patterns accurately from leather and fabric materials.
- Join and prep materials for assembly, ensuring they meet strict specifications and standards.
- Inspect all finished products for defects, stains, or damage to maintain high quality.
- Read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, parts lists, and safety manuals.
- Utilize hand tools such as grommet machines, heat sealers, wire strippers, and crimpers.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and ratios for measurements.
- Document work and mark components with identifying information for production tracking.
- Solve practical problems in a production environment with varying project requirements.
- Maintain a highly repetitive workflow with extreme attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of one year related experience and/or training preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
