Automation Controls Engineer needed for a client in the Charleston area, who is in the steel industry. This individual will focus on the Cold Mill section of the facility. This is a hands on role, where you'll be responsible for improving proesses and reliability. Salary for this role will be based on experience.

responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applied knowledge of control systems modeling, tuning, and stability
- Ability to analyze electrical and control system behavior using first principles and data-driven methods
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics, control narratives, and functional specifications Preferred Qualifications:
- Drive systems and closed-loop motor control
- Signal Analysis (time domain and frequency domain)
- Understanding of power systems
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Siemens PLC and VFD experience
- Knowledge of Cold Mill processes
- Four-year electrical engineering degree
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) experience
