A Pipe Stress Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Richland, WA area. This role will design and model complex 3D piping systems and equipment layouts for high-stakes industrial projects.

responsibilities:
- Develop complex 3D model equipment layouts and piping designs with minimal supervision.
- Create and refine detailed 2D/3D CAD scale models and construction drawings for Plant Design & Piping systems.
- Originate and verify engineering calculations, design models, and technical documents for accuracy and neatness.
- Review the work of assigned designers and drafters to ensure functionality and satisfactory completion.
- Coordinate technical requirements and design interfaces with professionals across other engineering disciplines.
- Navigate 3D models to extract essential data for input into pipe stress analysis software.
- Ensure all piping system designs comply with specific installation codes, federal regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical answers to clients and construction teams regarding the piping design scope.
- Deliver on-the-job training and mentorship to junior personnel within the design department.
- Prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs including ME101 and/or Bentley AutoPIPE.
- Previous company project experience.
- Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent) and
- 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
