A Pipe Support Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Richland, WA area. This role will design and calculate complex pipe supports and equipment layouts for industrial systems, ensuring compliance with ASME B31.3 and AISC codes.

responsibilities:
- Locate and design complex supports for various piping systems using 3D modeling software.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations to ensure support structures meet load and stress requirements.
- Develop complex 3D equipment layouts and piping designs with minimal supervision.
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and codes, specifically AISC and ASME B31.3.
- Review and check the accuracy, functionality, and quality of drawings and documents prepared by junior designers.
- Assign tasks to less experienced drafters and designers when acting in a lead capacity.
- Conduct bulk material quantity take-offs and prepare material requisitions for piping components.
- Participate in constructability reviews to ensure designs can be safely and efficiently built in the field.
- Coordinate with pipe stress engineers, layout personnel, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical conflicts.
- Create high-complexity 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for construction-level deliverables.
- Develop task-specific work plans, budgets, and schedules under the direction of a supervisor.
- Prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs ME150 (FAPPS).
- Prior experience using Pipe SupportModeler software.
- Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent) and
- 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
