A Purchasing Associate is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Everett, WA area. This role acts as an autonomous procurement professional responsible for managing the full purchasing lifecycle, from conducting negotiations and RFP processes to overseeing supplier performance and resolving complex logistical challenges, requiring a bachelor's degree and at least seven years of experience.

responsibilities:
- Execute procurement processes, standards, and operational plans including RFPs and cost analysis.
- Prepare for negotiations and perform financial data analysis to determine reasonable pricing.
- Manage the purchasing of goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure favorable terms.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Prepare purchase orders and approve payments to facilitate smooth procurement operations.
- Negotiate prices and compile price proposals or financial reports under general guidance.
- Create request for proposal packages and bid documents to acquire new accounts.
- Monitor contract performance to ensure all parties remain compliant with obligations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve logistical issues.
- Address shortages and manage solutions for missed or late deliveries.
- Act as a productive professional contributor handling difficult or complex problems.
- Work autonomously with limited supervision to meet departmental goals.
- Influence team members by explaining facts, policies, and procurement practices.
- Provide a bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of relevant supply chain experience.
- Demonstrate specific professional experience in purchasing and procurement functions.
- Note that this role is focused on procurement rather than supply chain planning.
