An energy technology company is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead structural analysis and new nuclear plant projects. This Supplier Quality Engineer role requires experience in product and process qualification to manage fabrications and complex assemblies by utilizing skills in RCA, FMEA, and FAI to ensure serial production readiness and regulatory compliance. This is a 9-month contract.

responsibilities:
- Define and execute product and process qualifications for complex fabrications and assemblies to ensure readiness for serial production.
- Review and approve Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP), Product and Process Quality Plans (PQP), control plans, and inspection plans.
- Translate critical-to-quality (CTQ), customer, and regulatory requirements into specific supplier process controls and inspection methods.
- Validate First Article Inspections (FAI) and monitor ongoing process capability to drive performance improvements.
- Manage and approve Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs) by conducting thorough risk assessments and documentation.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sourcing, and Field teams to evaluate and disposition supplier nonconformances.
- Lead containment, rework, and recovery efforts at supplier facilities, assembly sites, and field locations.
- Direct root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to implement preventive actions.
- Conduct comprehensive quality system and process audits at supplier sites to ensure compliance with QMS and industry standards.
- Drive the reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through continuous improvement initiatives and robust corrective actions.
