An Engineering Technician is needed in the Santa Clara, CA area for an American corporation that supplies equipment, services and software for the manufacture of semiconductor chips for electronics, flat panel displays for computers, smartphones, televisions, and solar products. This technician responsible for the complex assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of high-tech metrology and semiconductor capital equipment.

responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair metrology equipment hardware and software with minimal supervision.
- Perform complex electro-mechanical functions including design, test, fabrication, and assembly.
- Solve difficult system-level and component-level problems in electrical and mechanical sub-systems.
- Build prototype models, experimental circuitry, and specialized test fixtures.
- Author complex technical reports, logbooks, and standardized test procedures.
- Maintain a secure and clean work environment while strictly adhering to all safety protocols.
- Interface across departments to provide technical input on manufacturing process improvements.
- Provide technical training and subject matter expertise to junior engineering technicians.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing essential documentation and procedures.
- Apply functional knowledge of FIB, TEM, or SEM equipment within a semiconductor environment.
- Exercise independent judgment to resolve technical issues that lack established precedents.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's Degree (Optional).
- 0 - 2 Years (Preferred but not deal breaker).
