An Engineering Technician is needed in the Santa Clara, CA area for an American corporation that supplies equipment, services and software for the manufacture of semiconductor chips for electronics, flat panel displays for computers, smartphones, televisions, and solar products. This role involves the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems and prototypes while ensuring strict documentation and safety compliance.

responsibilities:
- Perform routine to complex assembly, fabrication, and modification of electro-mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and test electrical and mechanical systems at both the component and system levels.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through installations and field upgrades.
- Interpret schematics, diagrams, layouts, and technical plans to execute testing.
- Document test procedures and maintain detailed engineering logbooks.
- Conduct mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on specialized company platforms.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of protective equipment and hazard reporting.
- Monitor manufacturing and engineering processes to identify and assist in correcting procedural issues.
- Perform hardware rework based on test results and generate Quality Notifications for discrepancies.
- Build and check out experimental circuitry, prototype models, and specialized test fixtures.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to perform routine testing and troubleshooting.
- Compiles logbooks and test procedures documentation utilizing good writing skills.
