A Field Engineer is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Burlington, MA area. This role requires a BS in Engineering and 2 to 6 years of experience in linear water or sewer rehabilitation to serve as an Owner's Representative, utilizing skills in subcontract administration, technical design interpretation, and field inspection to ensure project compliance and schedule adherence.

responsibilities:
- Interprets technical requirements, design drawings, and contract specifications to ensure work proceeds as scheduled.
- Coordinates with the design engineering office to determine and implement necessary field changes or re-designs.
- Performs subcontract administration, including reviewing progress payments, managing extra work authorizations (RFMPs), and monitoring compliance.
- Processes and responds to Contractor Information Requests (CIRs) and RFIs.
- Conducts material quantity take-offs to support construction planning and invoice approvals.
- Monitors construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule and safety regulations.
- Maintains daily site logs and Conformed to Construction (as-built) record drawings.
- Provides direction to discipline engineers, general foremen, and vendor representatives without direct HR management responsibility.
- Assists the Quality Assurance Manager with field inspections and verification testing.
- Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings and other documents.
- Ability to do material takeoffs, field estimates.

- Must have a BS in engineering preferrably Civil since it is dealing with underground construction (but not a deal-breaker).
