A CAD Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Concord, NC area. This role creates and updates 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom manufacturing equipment using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD while ensuring compliance with drafting standards.

responsibilities:
- Assists in creating, revising, and managing electronic engineering drawing files.
- Works within a global drafting department supporting manufacturing facilities.
- Develops and edits drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Supports documentation for custom-designed process equipment.
- Creates and maintains 3D models and associated technical drawings.
- Ensures drawings follow company drafting standards and guidelines.
- Works with detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly drawings.
- Corrects redlined drawings and models provided by engineering teams or drafting leads.
- Converts legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models.
- Creates 2D drawings from existing 3D models.
- Incorporates engineering data into drawing documentation.
- Collects information from engineering teams to update technical drawings.
- Gathers measurements and details from the production floor for drawing updates.
- Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards.
- General Windows-based computer skills.
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software.
- Able to adapt to company standards and guidelines.

- A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree.
- A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree.
- Minimum of 2 years professional experience in the mechanical drafting field.
- Drafting Certificate/Certification.
- Candidates without degrees must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting.
