This Project Engineer position requires an ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or PE license) and extensive engineering, contract management, and coordination experience to lead and support project managers on complex Electric Distribution projects by overseeing technical deliverables, design quality, and compliance while balancing deadlines. responsibilities:
- Leads engineering tasks/deliverables related to planning, design, quality, testing, and execution of complex, strategic projects.
- Focuses on Electric Distribution business area, including Economic Development projects and major substation rebuilds.
- Ensures technical project work scope is properly coordinated between internal/external engineers, vendors, fabricators, and contractors.
- Manages multiple moderate to complex assignments applying standard engineering techniques and theory.
- Builds strong partnerships and understands business goals.
- Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Prepares, schedules, coordinates, and monitors assigned engineering projects.
- Assigns responsibilities and mentors the project team.
- Provides assistance and technical support to project managers and other participants.
- Reviews engineering deliverables and initiates corrective actions.
- Supports the Agile project delivery cadence by balancing team performance with deadlines.
- Develops specifications for the project's needed equipment.
- Requires analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Requires excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.
- Requires familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
- Requires organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Requires proficiency in MS Office and aptitude for learning new software.
- Requires experience coordinating internal and external engineering disciplines.
- Requires understanding and experience in contract management.
