Large utility is looking for a Gas Construction Manager in Kalamazoo, MI. responsibilities:
- Facilitate pre-construction meetings with a focus on safety and schedule recommendations.
- Oversee both pre-fabrication and onsite construction activities.
- Monitor and manage project safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
- Provide daily progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Supervise contract inspectors and resolve conflicts regarding materials, construction, or scheduling.
- Coordinate testing and start-up of installed equipment.
- Develop punch lists and obtain official sign-offs from the Field Leader.
- Assist the Project Manager in providing O&M manuals and asset lists (form 300) to relevant parties.
- Ensure as-built redline drawings are submitted to the Engineering department.
- Turn over emergency plan redlines to Records Management, Engineering, Field Operations, and Gas Control.
- Obtain acknowledgement of receipt from Gas Control prior to equipment going in-service.
- Compile and submit all close-out documentation in the standard format provided by the Project Manager.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable experience.
- Understanding of the Michigan Gas Safety Code and Federal Part 192 gas facilities standards.
- Ability to qualify for required tasks under PHMSA/MEA operator qualification rules.
- Experience and knowledge of gas facilities construction.
- Knowledge of field operations and equipment operations.

- Ability to stand and walk for periods of eight hours or more in various weather conditions (snow, mud, ice, etc.).

- Vision requirements: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting requirements: frequently lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (35 pounds is the recommended limit without assistance).
- Ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels, or loud noise levels when on a construction site.
