Our client is a rapidly growing General Contractor scaling in the North Carolina market, delivering complex, high-profile projects in higher education and life sciences. They are seeking Estimators to join their expanding Durham office, offering the chance to work on technically challenging builds that shape campuses and cutting-edge research environments.
This role is ideal for candidates with 2 to 5 years of commercial construction experience who want to accelerate their career in estimating and preconstruction. You will work alongside a collaborative team, gaining exposure to complex project scopes, diverse delivery methods, and real-time decision-making.
Estimators will support the full preconstruction lifecycle, from early budgeting through bid execution, while building the skills needed to grow into more senior roles.

responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of commercial construction estimates across multiple project types
- Process and support change orders, RFQs, and bid documentation
- Obtain and analyze material pricing and subcontractor bids
- Review drawings and specifications to verify scope and identify gaps
- Compile and organize estimating documentation, bid packages, and cost data
- Coordinate with internal estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings as needed to support preconstruction efforts
- Collaborate with and support other LeChase offices as required
- Maintain organized records to support bid accuracy and future project reference
- 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Focus on attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a team-based, collaborative environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Estimating software experience, timberline preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required, related work experience equivalent.
