Large utility company is looking for a Construction Manager in Alma, MI. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a mandatory SESC Stormwater Management Certification to lead onsite substation operations, utilizing SAP and OSHA knowledge to manage project safety, budgets, and schedules in diverse field environments. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm.

responsibilities:
Project Oversight and Management:
- Oversee onsite construction activities and monitor project safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
- Report project progress daily to the Manager of Construction Management.
- Supervise contract inspectors and resolve issues related to materials, construction, and scheduling conflicts.
- Ensure as-built redline drawings are accurately completed and submitted to the Engineering department.
- Manage high-value asset transportation between different company locations.
- Assure that all project construction adheres to applicable codes and industry standards.
- Perform Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) inspections.
- Maintain compliance with the Stormwater Management Certification protocol.
- Monitor and enforce OSHA and MiOSHA safety regulations on the construction site.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to validate technical specifications.
- Use SAP and Microsoft Office for project tracking and documentation.
- Handle priority setting, planning, and organizing for the construction team.
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable professional experience.
- Required SESC (Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control) Stormwater Management Certification.
- In-depth knowledge of substation field operations.
- Understanding of substation equipment operations.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office suite.
- strong skills in organizing, planning, and priority setting.
- Familiarity with OSHA and MiOSHA safety standards.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed during site inspections.
- Ability to stand and walk in all weather conditions, including snow, mud, dirt, water, and ice.
- Frequent lifting and moving of up to ten pounds; occasional lifting and moving of up to fifty pounds.
