Seeking a Tech Services Metallurgist / Sales Metallurgist to serve as the vital technical bridge between our steel production facility and our diverse customer base. You will act as a premier subject matter expert, providing high-level technical consultation to help customers optimize their material selection, improve their manufacturing processes, and resolve complex performance challenges. This is a dynamic, high-impact role that combines deep metallurgical expertise with a customer-centric approach; you will be responsible for everything from conducting on-site technical audits and failure analyses to collaborating with our internal mill teams to develop custom grades that meet evolving market demands. responsibilities:
- Understand, interpret and communicate customer quality and technical requirements and material specifications.
- Manage customer feedback and keep managers aware of any issues including claims and corrective actions.
- Lead problem-solving efforts for all quality and technical related issues.
- Understand future customer materials needs and trends, while keeping customer updated on current and future capabilities.
- Support customer in use and material selection process of products.
- BS Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or similar
- 4+ years in a customer-facing technical metallurgy role
- Steel experience required
- Sheet experience desired
- Great communication skills
- Team player mindset, leadership qualities, ability to self start
