responsibilities:
- Perform various duties as assigned or necessary for project completion.
- Prepare specifications for mechanical equipment and material purchases.
- Estimate material, labor, and construction costs for power generation project budgets.
- Write technical reports and compile data for existing or potential engineering studies.
- Provide technical support to internal departments and personnel.
- Coordinate installation, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance to ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.
- Direct testing and documentation activities to verify equipment standards.
- Establish installation and manufacturing standards through detailed engineering calculations.
- Evaluate and review mechanical equipment, piping sizes, and system layouts.
- Conduct construction drawing reviews for P&IDs and equipment layouts.
- Review equipment drawings and vendor submittals.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to discuss project progress and manage budgets.
- Report project status and financial health to upper management.
- Design, maintain, and improve mechanical instruments and systems for industrial or commercial use.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding all mechanical engineering matters.
- Conduct site visits to support engineering and construction phases.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, welding, or industrial engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Alternatively, an engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program paired with a Professional Engineering license in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4 to 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Specific experience in the design and specification of power generation fluid systems (steam, condensate, fuel gas, cooling water, compressed air, etc.).
- strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced mechanical engineering and technical proficiency.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organizational skill and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Aptitude for learning new industry-specific software.
