responsibilities:
- Integrates and reviews hardware and software for programmable devices, substation networks, and SCADA systems.
- Supports and audits SCADA and plant control designs developed by external or internal teams.
- Conducts hands-on system prototyping, test setups, and device integration in a laboratory environment.
- Configures and programs automation controllers, RTUs, protective relays, meters, and intelligent electrical devices (IEDs).
- Manages connectivity and networking for communications devices, routers, and switches.
- Utilizes the DNP-3.0 protocol across both serial and IP communication channels.
- Performs high-level programming using VB.NET or similar languages for system customization.
- Analyzes complex technical data to ensure seamless integration of generation control systems.
- Collaborates with diverse teams and stakeholders to provide technical support and customer relations.
- strong analytical skills are required.
- Good clear oral and written communications skills and customer relations skills are required.
- Prior MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word skills are required.
- Prior experience with programmable/configurable devices
- Experience with the DNP-3.0 protocol, both serial and IP is desired.
- Experience programming in VB.NET or another high level language is desired.
- Experience with SCADA systems and generation control integration.
